FAQ

Q: Why should I choose you?

A: I am an officially licensed tour guide with the City of New York, and a member of the Guides Association of New York (GANYC), one of the oldest and most active tour guides associations in America. You will be getting a vetted professional, and a lifelong New Yorker who knows this city inside and out... its history and its trends and changes.

Too many tours are static, overloading you with information, while covering very little ground. You don't want to stand on a corner for 20 minutes listening to a lecture; you want to see New York. That's why I focus on show versus tell. I will show you what you really want to see, give all the key facts and hidden secrets, and take questions as we go. This city is vibrant and alive-- your tour should be as well!

I can pass on my knowledge and make you feel right at home in this little town of ours.

(You can also see reviews from past customers here & here.)

Q: How much is there to see?

A: NYC has 5 boroughs-- Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island-- and you could easily spend multiple days exploring just one of these. Even many lifelong New Yorkers still miss out on many areas. By planning a tour around your interests & needs, I will make sure you get a personalized look at the places you want in the time you have here.

Q: What is your touring schedule?

A: I give tours year-round, 7 days a week. I have some scheduled tours, with flexibility for private requests.

To see my scheduled tours available for booking, see my calendar. Most dates are available for private tours.

Q: How much do tours cost?

A: Rates vary per tour. Most of my listed tours have set rates, but please contact me for custom tour rates.

Q: How do I book?

A: Please use the booking button on each tour's page.

NOTE: The main booking button on the site only lists our most popular tours, but individual booking links for all tours are available on each tour's page. Not all tours are available each day; inquire for private dates.

For custom tour requests, please contact me to arrange booking.

Q: How will we get to the tour?

A: Upon booking a tour, I will email you all the details, including the meeting time and location.

All of my tours begin and end near subway stops, to make it easy for you.

Q: Who are your tours for?

A: Anyone and everyone! Young, old. First-time visitors, seasoned regulars. If you're excited to see the sights, I am excited to show them to you.

Q: How should I prepare for the tour?

A: All of my tours are on foot, and you should be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

I do tours in hot or cold weather, so dress accordingly. All tours are rain or shine. In case of severe weather, you will be contacted to arrange a rescheduling or a cancellation.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: I will accept cancellations for a full refund if arranged 48 hours before the planned tour time.

Q: What are some of your favorite neighborhoods?

A: I love the neighborhoods that make you feel like you're not in the city. Greenwich Village, with its historic, quiet streets. Forest Hills Gardens, with its feel of a quiet English village. Red Hook, with its seaside manufacturing town vibes. Victorian Flatbush, which feels like a suburban town hidden in Brooklyn. This is the kind of diversity that truly makes the city great.

Q: How do I get to Carnegie Hall?

A: Practice.
