This walking tour will explore the oft-ignored history & architecture of The Bronx. This borough contains the city's largest collection of Art Deco residential buildings. Discover these unique buildings on a walking tour of a beautiful historic district.

The tour will meet by historic Yankee Stadium, the Bronx's most famous icon. From there we will discuss the borough's unique history, and see the area's beautiful architecture. Learn of the grand plans by a French architect for a Champs-Élysées style boulevard in the Bronx, and a wave of amazing Art Deco architecture it brought with it.

Along our journey down the Grand Concourse and its surrounding streets, we will see numerous deco buildings. We will also see the grand Bronx courthouse and its amazing architecture. Other icons you will pass on your walk will include the Andrew Freeman Home, Joyce Kilmer Park, and the Bronx Museum of Art.
